Submisson guidelines for Wicked House Publishing:

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Submissions being accepted:

  • ***General novel submissions Adult/YA (>60k)****

  • ***Novella collections totaling over 65k words***

  • CREEPY LITTLE NIGHTMARES - we are currently not taking submissions for CLN books.

  • We are not currently in the market for poetry, single novellas, novelettes, short stories, short story anthologies, or short story collections.

Genres Accepted:

  • Dark Fiction

  • Horror

  • Thrillers

  • Other genres if dark: post-apoc, space, alien invasions, monsters, others. Think - Oblivion, Interstellar, Extinction, Annihilation, War of the Worlds, The Martian, Event Horizon, Cloverfield, A Quiet Place.

  • >60,000 words

  • Twists. Suspense. Drama. Nightmares. We love everything from haunted houses and haunted towns, to demons, zombies, and aliens, and the end of the world. Horror, thrillers, and twisted darkness are our thing.

  • Title emails as follows (Genre - title - type). Examples: "Horror - Scary House Book - Novel” or “Horror - Scary Monster Book - Creepy Little Nightmares”

  • All submissions should include the following: a pitch query including title, word count, etc (see online guides), a 1–2-page synopsis, and the first three chapters. All parts should be included in the body of the email, not as attachments. Attachments will not be opened.

  • No reprints. No previously self-published books.

  • Books must be 100% completed upon submission.

  • If you are submitting a series, all books in the series must be completed upon submission. If the series is very long, this can be discussed

  • Authors will be paid 40% royalties for net eBook sales and 20% on net paperback sales. Royalties continue after rights are reverted back to the author.

  • We are looking for Worldwide English rights for paperback, eBook, and hardcover. Audiobook and translation rights are negotiable. We ask for four years exclusivity, after which the rights return to the author. The Wicked House version of the book will, however, remain in print unless agreed upon by publisher and author.

  • Any and all costs related to the publishing of your work are paid for by this press.
